Insidious Valour

Hope is the new lie. Blood is the new currency.

Ryan made a promise…

Two birds. One stone.

As you dive into the third entry for this series, you’ll see it follows within weeks of the ending of Diseased Intentions. I knew I had to push everyone straight back into the mindset Ryan had left at the end of the second book.

More to the point, I knew it was vital that I don’t just continue his arc from where we left off. As main character, his arc is vital to me, and the readers I now have following me… and one thing I noticed, everyone loved it when I let him off the leash. Throughout his journey in Insidious Valour, you’ll witness him remain true to his core, but unleashed. There was no point teasing it anymore. You’ll get to see more of what he’s capable of.

The fun fact about this… it’s just the start of this next stage of growth for him.

Character growth…

Trust me, it’s not only Ryan who I have chiselled out. You can expect the unexpected across the board of characters I’ve introduced to you. Cassy, Drinker, Harper, Mikey, Woodburn, Hannah, Rook… and some new ones along the way.

The question to myself when I started Insidious Valour was- ‘How am I going to balance all of these arcs and threads?’

I can promise, I found something that works, and it can from the books structure and timeline.

I’ve not backed away, and a lot of true colours will be unearthed, and some ghosts hiding in plain sight…

I’ve always said my books are character driven, but the plot has helped this story so much, and it’s taken me to next level I want to be as a writer.

Synopsis.

An unregistered cargo vessel. One mutilated corpse. An uprising against the European Alliance.

The harshest of winters has relentlessly battered what remains of Penbrook Vineyard, and Ryan Field is clinging to his last thread of sanity.

It’s not only the structural decay that weighs down on his conscious but the target on his people’s backs. A bullseye that he created.

One radio call looks to relieve him of that burden- or is it yet another vow in the growing list of broken promises.

In Rennes, Lieutenant Adam Harper has the chance to put the ghosts that haunt him to rest, though this means having to leave the French Stronghold and those he swore to protect.

While his heart is on keeping his word to Ryan, it’s his mind that tells him to finish the war before it comes for them…

A war that’ll be defined by his choices.
