The story continues.
Bring yourself back to Penbrook Vineyard with the second instalment of the series. In Diseased Intentions, you can expect the same detail of a crumbled world and the tension that comes with it, along with newer characters, new destinations, and a lot of secrets underneath the surface.
Set just two months after the ending of The Taste Beneath, you step straight back into Ryan’s shoes as he tries to come to terms with everything he lost, while still trying to keep everyone at Penbrook safe. With the war ending, The European Alliance wants to help establish the vineyard as one it’s own community’s, meaning there are laws and regulations to follow as they look to return the continent to a functioning society.
Still set in the heart of Surrey, England, the second book opens up the world to you, letting you see just how much devastation The Fast War inflicted. You’ll be taken to various cities around the country, and across seas to Rennes and North Uist.
With the addition of newer people comes newer threats, while Admiral and the Termites are still out there also. They know Ryan isn’t someone you take on face to face, so they will find different ways to get under his skin.
They’re coming.
It wasn’t just Father and Admiral who had the same views. It stretches further than anyone could’ve known, and you’ll find out just how far their reach goes.
Connor may be detained, but he still has plans, and he is hell bent on getting back to finish the job. He regrets giving Ryan that choice, though it entertained him, but at least it gives him something to look forward to after he gets out.
Project Zodiac is coming, and the European Alliance doesn’t even know it’s helping them get what they need, and putting them where they need to be… right under Ryan’s nose.
Synopsis.
It’s been just over two months since Penbrook Vineyard was liberated from the conflict in Europe, and the community is still trying to mend the scars it bears.
Even with the prospect of a safer future, Ryan finds himself torn between accepting the new laws thrust upon them, or keeping his guard up and playing by his own rules. He knows a greater threat is still out, but he doesn’t know just how close it is.
As Ryan fights the previous year’s worth of torment, he must also be prepared for the war on his doorstep. Hiding in plain sight.
They say time is a great healer. How do you heal when you’re not given the time to?
